ABOUT

I've been photographing wildlife for many years and in 2005 I moved from the busy Netherlands to the beautiful Scottish Highlands. I haven't been disappointed, there is so much wildlife and nature to enjoy and photograph here.
And as if this does not take up enough of my spare time, I have always loved crafts, fabric and textile. When I discovered needle felting I found the perfect combination: making wildlife from wool. What started as a hobby has taken over my life and my little house in Inverness.
It's amazing what you can do with some wool and felting needles. When you stab wool with the barbed felting needles it becomes denser and you can transform it into different shapes. Most of my sculptures have a wire frame to provide a skeleton. I love studying the animals and blending different types of wool to obtain the perfect colours and textures for each animal. And even though my animals are usually quite small, I try to apply all the details to make the animals as life-like as possible.
The GALLERY shows a selection of the animals I have created over the years. And there is still an endless variety of animals that I’m looking forward to creating!
The PHOTOGRAPHY section shows some of my wildlife photography from Scotland and trips abroad. My photos can be purchased for publication on Alamy.
